Wind Damage Claims
Wind damage occurs when wind speeds reach 45 miles per hour or greater. Between 45-57 mph, loose shingles can be pulled up and trees can be torn down, falling directly on or hitting your home. Above those wind speeds, a number of disasters can occur, and property damage is more probable the higher the wind speed.
Next Steps
What should you do after you encounter property damage from high winds? First, ensure that you and your family are safe and unharmed. Then inspect your home and property, including your business, cars and other property you own. Take photographs of any damage you find, and then call your insurance company to discuss your coverage options.
